Building a stronger future for Hampton Falls begins with the work we do today within our Republican Town Committee. By expanding our committee now, we are not just filling seats; we are proactively recruiting dedicated residents who are ready to protect our town’s rural character and ensure fiscal responsibility.

The mission of the Hampton Falls Republican Town Committee is to promote Conservative principles, advance the New Hampshire Advantage, and support ethical candidates who advocate for limited government, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility at the local, state, and federal levels.

In the early 2000s, a fierce December storm threatened to derail one of Hampton Falls’ most anticipated traditions. As a heavy blanket of snow transformed the town into an impassable whiteout, the planned arrival of Santa Claus seemed destined for cancellation. But in Hampton Falls, the holiday spirit isn't easily weathered.
Upholding the tradition, Doug Darlington acted as coachman, harnessing his sturdy horse, Cricket, to a rugged buggy built to brave the deepening drifts. With Tim Samway safely aboard in his Santa suit, Cricket leaned into the gale. While the town’s roads had grown ghost-like and silent, the steady rhythm of Cricket’s gait signaled that the season was still on its way.
The team successfully navigated the treacherous path to the Hampton Falls Free Library, where a crowd of wide-eyed children waited in hushed anticipation. When the buggy finally emerged through the swirling flakes, the sight was nothing short of cinematic. To the delight of the community, Santa had arrived—not by motor or sleigh, but through the strength and heart of a local horse.
Today, the story of Doug, Tim, and Cricket lives on as "The Night the Horse Saved Christmas” - an enduring testament to the fortitude, affection, and community spirit that defines Hampton Falls.
